VILLANOVA, Pa. - Villanova senior Christina Bahrs (Oceanport, N.J./Shore Regional High School) has been named to the 2007 Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Women's Lacrosse team. The announcement was made by the Philadelphia Area Sports Information Directors Association (Philly-SIDA), which coordinates balloting.

Bahrs led the `Cats in scoring from her attack position in 2007 with 29 goals and seven assists for 36 points. She also led the club with 49 draw controls and added 22 groundballs. In the classroom the psychology major carries a 3.72 grade point average.

Villanova completed its season with a 7-9 record, a four-win improvement over its 2006 campaign.

Along with Bahrs the Academic All-Area Team includes: Jessie Basch (Easter); Melissa Dunn (Ursinus); Kate Hoy (Eastern); Stephanie Jordan (Chestnut Hill); Kerry Kelly (Drexel); Katie Meyers (Haverford); Katelyn Penrose (Cabirini); Lindsay Roth (Swarthmore); Kerri Schulz (Widener); Sarah Waxman (Penn); Brooke Woodland (Philadelphia).
