VILLANOVA, Pa. - A trio of Villanova Wildcats received postseason honors from the Patriot League.

Junior Cecily Pierce (New Canaan, Conn.) and sophomore Meghan Carolan were selected to the Patriot League First Team. Carolan, who finished third in the country in groundballs per game (4.5), scored 29 goals and added four assists in her second season on the Main Line. Pierce, meanwhile, was second on the club in scoring with 36 goals and six assists.

Junior midfielder Sarah DePeters was a second team Patriot League selection. DePeters led the Wildcats in scoring with 42 goals and five assists for a total of 47 points.

In addition to the Patriot League honors, Carolan was also named to the All Mid-Atlantic region squad. She becomes the first Wildcat so honored since Meghan Doyle in 1999.

Villanova completed the year with a 6-11 record and its first-ever postseason appearance in the Patriot League tournament.
