RECORD: 3-13 overall, 1-4 Patriot League.

DOYLE'S DOMINANT: Meghan Doyle leaves the program as the Wildcats' all-time leader in goals scored (138). Doyle's 63 goals during the 16-game 1999 season also establshed a new single season standard at Villanova, shattering the mark of 51 Doyle reached in 1998.

Doyle's scoring prowess placed her into elite company nationally. At the close of the campaign the native of Cockeysville, Md., was second in the nation in goals scored per game (3.9) and No. 8 in points accumulated per contest (4.6).

SARAH'S SAVES: One of the major issues confronting the Wildcats entering the 1999 season was goalkeeping. As the season's dawn, not one player on the Villanova roster had logged so much as a minute of collegiate action as a goalie.

Enter senior Sarah Gilhorn. The product of Central Bucks West High School in nearby Doylsetown, Pa., made the conversion from defense to netminder and held up admirably. Gilhorn recorded 189 saves on the season and a save percentage of .493 in the face of some strong attacks.

FUTURE HOPES: Although the Wildcats have areas of improvement to address, there are tools in place. While the club loses Doyle, Gilhorn and defender Jennifer Morris to graduation there is a promising young nucleus on the scene. In fact, Doyle is the only member of the team's top eight point producers who is not slated to return to the lineup next season.

Sophomore Liz Kenny was second on the team in points (29) and assists (nine). Freshman Cecily Pierce was second on the club in goals with 23. Classmate Sarah DePeters chalked up 11 goals while sophomores Teri Overturf and Julie Feddeman recorded five and four, respectively. On defense junior Katie Craig was an anchor while freshman Kerry Ryan acquired valuable experience, seeing action in 15 games and making 11 starts.
