Donodeo Named to Second Team All- BIG EAST

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Villanova senior attack Justine Donodeo has been named to the 2012 All-BIG EAST Second Team, the conference office announced at the annual BIG EAST Championship banquet held in Syracuse. Voting was conducted by the league's head coaches, who were not permitted to vote for their own players. Donodeo led Villanova with 33 goals and 41 points this season. She handed out eight assists, won eight draw controls and picked up seven ground balls this season. She also became the sixth player in Villanova history to score 100+ goals after reaching the milestone on March 21. Donodeo was named to the BIG EAST honor roll on three occasions this season. Syracuse junior Michelle Tumolo was named the league's Attack Player of the Year, while Loyola senior Kellye Gallagher was named Defensive Player of the Year. Loyola's Marlee Paton was named Midfielder of the Year and Syracuse head coach Gary Gait was named BIG EAST Coach of the Year. The BIG EAST Championship begins tomorrow at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse.
