BETHLEHEM, Pa. - A pair of Villanova captains, Meghan Carolan and Lauren Ferrara, were cited for their excellence by the Patriot League this week.

Carolan, who leads Villanova with 25 goals and 30 points, was named to the Patriot League's first team. The senior midfielder from Hicksville, N.Y., makes her second consecutive appearance on the All-Patriot League first team.

Ferrara, a junior from Tabernacle, N.J., was named to the All-Patriot League second team on defense. This is also a repeat honor for Ferrara, who was named to the second team in 2002 as well.

Villanova will close out its 2003 campaign at Villanova Stadium next Tuesday evening at 7:00 against Saint Joseph's. The contest will mark the final home appearance for Carolan and fellow seniors Elizabeth Firth and Lauren Dachille. The trio will be honored in pregame ceremonies.
