Wildcats Travel to Marquette Saturday

VILLANOVA, Pa. - The Villanova women's lacrosse team (7-7, 2-3 BIG EAST) travels to new conference rival Marquette (5-9, 2-7) Saturday for a noon ET game in Milwaukee, Wis.

Marquette joined the BIG EAST in lacrosse this year after playing its inaugural season as an independent in 2013. The Wildcats defeated the Golden Eagles, 19-8, last season.

In their last game, the Wildcats fell, 13-2, at Georgetown. Sophomore attack Kelsey Denihan and junior midfielder Hannah Goforth tallied Villanova's only goals. Junior attack Jessica Mucci assisted on both tallies.

Wildcats Post Dominate 19-8 Victory Over Marquette
Led by the four-point performances of Jessica Mucci, Chelsey Henderson and Maria Bowman, the Villanova Wildcats (5-3) posted a dominate 19-8 victory over Marquette (2-7) on Friday evening in Milwaukee, Wis.

Sophomore attack Meghan Breen (23G, 8A) and Mucci (9G, 22A) each have 31 points on the season.

Scouting the Golden Eagles
The Golden Eagles are currently on a four-game losing streak, with the last an 11-7 loss to Temple on Thursday. Amanda Bochniak and Hayley Baas each scored twice in the contest and goalkeeper Sarah Priem made nine saves.

Bachniak has 18 goals and 18 assists on the season while Baas has 25 goals. Priem has played in all 14 games and holds an 8.39 goals against average and a .353 save percentage.
