VILLANOVA, Pa. - The Villanova women's lacrosse team (5-4, 0-1) continues their BIG EAST slate this weekend when they host No. 5 Syracuse and Connecticut for a pair of matches this Friday and Sunday at Villanova Stadium. Game time versus the Orange is slated for 4 p.m. on Friday, April 5th while the Wildcats will meet the Huskies at 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 7th.
Villanova This Season: The Wildcats enter this weekend with a 5-4 overall record after posting a 19-8 victory over Marquette and falling 14-2 to No. 7 Notre Dame in their last contests. Senior Maria Bowman (Fr. Belvoir, Va.) notched the 100th point of her career against the Golden Eagles and posts 102 career points during her four-year stint on the Main Line. On the season, Villanova has posted wins over Marquette (W, 19-8), Central Connecticut (W, 11-8), Mt. St. Mary's (W, 16-7), Columbia (W, 16-7) and Davidson (W, 11-7). Losses on the year have come by the hands of Lehigh (L, 10-9), Princeton (L, 10-5), Drexel (L, 14-10) and Notre Dame (L, 14-2).
`Nova vs. Syracuse: Friday will mark just the fourth overall meeting between Villanova and Syracuse with the Orange holding the upper hand in the all-time series at 3-0. The conference opponents met for the first time in 2010 for the start of the BIG EAST Lacrosse conference.
A Look at Syracuse: The 5th-ranked Orange brings a 5-3 overall record into Friday's matchup. Syracuse has captured wins over Jacksonville (W, 21-8), Virginia (W, 10-9), Towson (W, 10-3), Connecticut (W, 18-7) and Boston College (W, 17-12). Losses on the year have come from Maryland (L, 19-11), Florida (L, 14-10) and Northwestern (L, 13-12).
Alyssa Murray leads the team with 36 points via 24 goals and 12 assists and is followed closely behind by Michelle Tumolo with 16 goals and 14 assists. Kelsey Richardson has been the primary starter in net and owns a 4-1 record on the season with a 9.14 GAA and a .371 save percentage.

The Huskies have captured wins over Iona (W, 13-2), Boston College (W, 13-8), Quinnipiac (W, 20-6), New Hampshire (W, 11-9), Fairfield (W, 12-11 OT), Binghamton (W, 19-8) and Oregon (W, 16-14 OT). Their lone loss of the season was by No. 5 Syracuse (L, 18-7).
Lauren Kahn leads the team with 35 points via 18 goals and 17 assists while Carly Palmucci follows closely behind with 17 goals and 10 assists. Shannon Nee has been the primary starter in goal and owns a 5-1 record on the season with a 9.89 GAA and a .389 save percentage.
