Women's Lacrosse Begins Five-Game Homestand

VILLANOVA, Pa. - The women's lacrosse squad (1-4) returns home and opens a five-game homestand on Wednesday as the Wildcats host La Salle at 7:00 p.m. at Villanova Stadium.

Villanova has had a long break with just one game in the past 17 days. The Wildcats fell last week in an 11-7 battle at George Washington.

Senior Justine Donodeo leads the offense with 14 points, 11 goals and three assists. She has also posted three ground controls and three ground balls.

Junior Maria Bowman has tallied 12 points this season with eight goals and four assists and has picked up six ground balls. Freshman Jackie Froccaro has netted 10 goals and has four ground balls.

Defensively, junior Shawna Giust has 10 groundballs for the `Cats, 15 draw controls and seven caused turnovers. Senior Princess Livingston has recorded seven groundballs, and two caused turnovers. In goal, Dani Wiedmeier has 30 saves in five games.

La Salle is 5-2 in the season after earning a 14-12 victory last Saturday over Binghamton. Villanova owns a slight 7-6 edge in the all-time series with the Explorers.
