VILLANOVA, Pa. - The Villanova women's lacrosse team (2-1) returns home to host crosstown rival Drexel (2-2) Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Villanova Stadium.

In their last outing, the Wildcats defeated Bucknell, 10-4, for the team's first road win of the season. Sophomore attack Meghan Breen scored three goals and the Villanova defense kept the Bison off the scoreboard for the first half.

Sophomore midfielder Chelsey Henderson recorded three points (1G, 2A), four groundballs and two draw controls against Bucknell. The Wildcats outshot the Bison 31-16.

Wildcats Fall to No. 18 Drexel 14-10 in Midweek Matchup
Despite taking the early 2-0 lead on a cold and windy March afternoon in Philadelphia, Pa., the Villanova Wildcats dropped a midweek matchup to No. 18 Drexel, 14-10, on Wednesday at Vidas Field.

Sophomore goalkeeper Jaclyn Fraum was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Tuesday for her play last week. Fraum played 47 minutes against No. 20 Navy and made five saves before making her first collegiate start against Bucknell and recording seven saves. Fraum holds a 5.26 goals against average and a .538 save percentage through three games.

Sophomore attack Kelsey Denihan leads the Wildcats with 11 points (10G, 1A) while Breen (7G, 3A), Henderson (5G, 5A) and junior attack Jessica Mucci (2G, 8A) each have 10 points on the season.

Villanova has outscored opponents 38-20 through the first three games of the season while outshooting opposition 83-42.

Scouting the Dragons
Drexel (2-2) is on a two-game losing skid following a 13-10 loss at Colgate. Midfielder Joelle Hartke led the Dragons with four games in the contest while midfielder Emily Duffey had three goals and an assist. Goalkeepers Teresha Bradley and Carlee Ries split time in net.

Hartke has eight goals and three assists on the season, tied for a team-best 11 points with Amanda Norcini (7G, 4A). Bradley has started all four games in net, with a 9.88 goals against average and a .396 save percentage.

The teams met last season with then-No. 18 taking the game, 14-10. Drexel holds a 10-5 all-time advantage between the teams.
