Froccaro Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

Sophomore Attack Netted Five Goals in Season Opener vs. Lehigh

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Sophomore attack Jackie Froccaro (Sands Point, N.Y.) has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon. Froccaro earns the honor after posting a career-high five goals in a 10-9 loss at Lehigh on Saturday afternoon and accounting for 45% of the teams total points in the contest.

Louisville's Nikki Boltja and Notre Dame's Stephanie Peragallo were named the Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively.

The Wildcats, fueled by Froccaro's effort, nearly went into overtime in the season opener and notched three goals in the last ten minutes of the contest but couldn't find the equalizer. The match marked the season opener for both squads.

Villanova will look to notch the first win of the 2013 season when they travel to Princeton to face the Tigers on Saturday, February 23rd. Game time is slated for 1 p.m. in the Class of 1952 Stadium.
