Boston University Tops Women's Lacrosse 15-6

VILLANOVA, Pa. - Hosting Boston University on Friday, April 24 at Villanova Stadium, the Villanova women's lacrosse team lost to the Terriers 15-6. With the loss, the Wildcats record fell to 4-11 overall on the season.
Boston University jumped out to a quick start scoring seven consecutive goals to start the first half, with three coming from sophomore Jenn Manning. At the 9:23 mark, the Wildcats finally got on the scoreboard on a goal by junior Meghan Doyle. Doyle would strike again just over three minutes later, before the Terriers scored twice more to send the game into intermission at 10-2.
In the second half, Doyle got Villanova started with her third goalof the game at the 28:53 mark to cut the lead to 10-3. Despite one goal each by sophomore Molly O'Connor, freshman Liz Kenny and Doyle down the stretch, Boston University proved too strong as they pulled away and cruised on to a 15-6 victory.
In goal for Villanova, freshman Julie Pinnix saved 13 shots in the loss. Leading the Wildcat offense was Doyle who scored four goals on the afternoon. She is now only two goals away from breaking the all-time Villanova record for goals in a season. For Boston University, Manning the way tallying five goals and one assist.
The Wildcats will wrap up their season at home, as they host the Rutgers Scarlet Knights on Sunday, April 26 at 1 p.m.
