WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Villanova women's lacrosse team (7-7, 2-3 BIG EAST) fell to conference rival Georgetown (7-7, 4-1) 13-2 Thursday afternoon.

The Hoyas defense kept the Wildcats off the scoreboard in the first half. Villanova recorded six shots in the first on four offensive possessions as Georgetown held the ball. The Hoyas notched 20 shots and scored 10 goals in the first half.

After another Georgetown goal, junior midfielder Hannah Goforth broke the shutout at 19:08. Sophomore attack Kelsey Denihan scored the Wildcats' second goal at 13:36. Junior attack Jessica Mucci assisted on both goals.

The Hoyas won 13 draw controls to Villanova's four and picked up a 22-14 ground ball advantage.

Sophomore Jaclyn Fraum played 10:31 in goal and allowed five goals before being pulled for senior Julia Todd. She allowed eight goals and made four saves through the rest of the game.

Villanova will look to rebound quickly as it takes on Marquette in Milwaukee, Wis., Saturday at noon.
