Villanova, Pa. - Villanova women's lacrosse battled till the end of an overtime match versus Colgate but fell short in the extra frame, 12-10. The Wildcats fell behind 10-9 towards the end of the second half but managed an Elizabeth Firth goal with 4:06 remaining in regulation to force the contest to overtime. With the loss the 'Cats fell to .500 at 4-4 overall, and dropped a crucial game in the Patriot League to stand at 1-2.

Meghan Carolan who tallied four goals and Katie Mannix who added a hat trick of her own led the Villanova scoring. Amy Rocap, Elizabeth Firth, and Lindsey Syphard each scored a goal in the Wildcat loss. Katie Komlo displayed great speed and decision making as she assisted on two Villanova goals. Caitlin Houck beat Wildcat goalkeeper Jess McGrattan three times to pace Colgate.

Up next for Villanova is a road swing at American on April 5th and at Pennsylvania on the 6th. The Wildcats next play at home on April 9th versus league rival Lehigh.
