HIGH POINT, N.C. - Sophomore attack Meghan Breen scored a hat trick for the second straight game as the Villanova women's lacrosse team (3-3) fell, 16-8, to High Point (3-3) Friday afternoon. Sophomore midfielder Chelsey Henderson also scored three goals for the Wildcats.

The Panthers started the game on a 7-0 run before sophomore midfielder Tierney Griff got Villanova on the board at 3:29 with a free position shot.

Henderson scored two unassisted goals at the beginning of the second half to cut the High Point lead to 7-3.

The Panthers scored six consecutive goals before the Wildcats offense began to kick in. Breen scored the first of the three goals at 12:31. Henderson scored at 7:11 on a free position shot, followed by an unassisted tally by senior attack Ali Judge at 5:31.

High Point added two more goals to bring their total to 16 before Breen scored twice in the last 1:31 once on a free position, to bring the Wildcats to eight goals in the game.

Sophomore Jaclyn Fraum and senior Julia Todd split time in net with Fraum making four saves and Todd making one.

The teams were tied in shots with 22 with 16 of Villanova's shots coming in the second half. The Panthers held a 15-11 advantage in ground balls and a 16-10 lead in draw controls.

The Wildcats will look to rebound quickly as they play at Davidson on Sunday at 1 p.m.
