VILLANOVA, Pa. - Freshman Jackie Froccaro posted three goals, but the Villanova women's lacrosse team (1-2) fell to No. 8 Princeton in a 16-3 contest on Saturday at Villanova Stadium.

Froccaro took 10 shots in the game and tallied three goals for three points. Junior Annie Fallon and sophomores Amy Begay and Christine O'Reilly each had one caused turnover.

Senior Princess Livingston had two groundballs.

Princeton got on the board first for a 2-0 lead before Froccaro found the net on an unassisted goal with 21:14 left in the first half. The Tigers scored five more goals to close out the half with a 7-1 lead.

Froccaro's second goal game at the 25:54 mark on another unassisted goal, but Princeton responded immediately and then added seven additional goals to lead 15-2. Froccaro's last goal came with 5:57 left in the game.

Jaci Gassaway led the Tigers with five goals and two assists for seven points. Four other Princeton players came up with two goals each.

This was Princeton's season opener and the Tigers are now 1-0.

Villanova will begin conference play on Saturday, March 3 as the Wildcats host Georgetown beginning at noon.
