Position:
Head Coach

In five seasons at Villanova, Joanie Q. Milhous built a foundation for field hockey success. Now in her third year as head women's lacrosse coach, she hopes to utilize that blueprint for the lacrosse program.

If one is looking for proof that the system can work consider this: Milhous was cited as the 1999 Big East Field Hockey Coach of the Year.

Over the course of her first two seasons in charge, Milhous has done much to lay a foundation for success. Last season the Wildcats featured one of America's premier scorers in Meghan Doyle and a promising crop of freshmen which has now been augmented by another strong recruiting class.

Milhous came to Villanova University from Cabrini College, where she was the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference Field Hockey Coach of the Year in 1994. While coaching at Cabrini, she was also an assistant lacrosse coach for the Harriton High School girl's program.

Milhous is a 1991 graduate of the College of William & Mary where she earned a bachelor of arts degree in psychology. At William & Mary, she was a standout for both the field hockey and lacrosse teams. In field hockey, Milhous was a two-time regional All-American and two-time All-Conference selection, as well as being chosen as team captain. She ended her career as the seventh leading scorer in Tribe history.

Success on the athletic field is nothing new to Milhous. As a student athlete at the College of William & Mary, she was a regional All-American in lacrosse. In addition, she was a team captain and All-Conference selection. In each of her four seasons on campus the Tribe was nationally ranked. She was selected to participate in the North/South Senior All-Star game in both field hockey and lacrosse.

In addition to her duties at Villanova, Milhous also is a past President of the Big East Conference Field Hockey Site Committee. She is also a board member of the Philadelphia Lacrosse Association and stands as the representative for Philadelphia Colleges.
