Kate Henwood enters her third season as an assistant coach to Jebb Chagan in 2009.

The former Penncrest High School head coach in nearby Media, Pa., helps Chagan in all areas of the program, including player development and teaching.

As an undergraduate at La Salle University, Henwood was a four year starter for the Explorers and spent two seasons as a team captain. She ranks No. 2 on the La Salle all-time list in goals, assists and points. She is a former All-Atlantic Ten Conference performer and was on the conference's academic all-conference squad as a senior in 2005.

"Kate has been a great addition to our coaching staff," says head coach Jebb Chagan. "She brings enthusiasm and the experience gained from an outstanding career at La Salle."

As a student-athlete Henwood also was invited to try out for the United States Developmental squad and also participated in the U.S. Lacrosse National Tournament.

In addition to her season at Penncrest, Henwood also served as head coach of the SEPA lacrosse club during her undergraduate days at La Salle. She also was an assistant coach with the Ridley indoor lacrosse team, PASLA lacrosse club, and Philly Girls lacrosse club.

During her time at Penncrest, Henwood also served as an assistant volleyball coach and in 2006 she was an assistant varsity soccer coach at Garnet Valley High School.

Henwood graduated in May 2005 with a bachelor of arts degree from La Salle. She majored in Citizenship Education and Secondary Education.

Henwood now makes her home in Haverford, Pa.
