O'Neil Leading Wildcats' Assault on the National Rankings
Two Late Goals by the Wildcats Lifts them Over Vanderbilt 7-6
Villanova’s Becca Hetrick tied things up under a minute later on a pass from Henderson, next it was Henderson herself who scored the game winning goal for the Wildcats with just 15 seconds remaining to give Villanova the final 7-6 lead.
Wildcats Play Last Game at Vanderbilt Sunday
Villanova is looking to rebound after dropping their Wednesday night game to the Temple Owls by a final of 10-7. Villanova's only goal of the first half was by Carolyn Dottino-Buenahora with just over a minute left on the clock. The second half was much strong for the Wildcats, scoring six goals in the second half. Three of goals were by Jackie Froccaro, to get as close as within two to the Owls
Wildcats Fight Hard but Fall Short to Temple 10-7
Temple dominated from the start scoring their first goal just under a minute in and continuing the streak with three more over the next 25 minutes. Carolyn Dottino-Buenahora got Villanova on the board with just over a minute left in the half but the Owls Brenda McDermott was able to score her third goal just seconds later. The Wildcats went into halftime down 5-1.
Wildcats to Play Last Home Game vs. Temple Wednesday
Last season these two BIG EAST team played in Philadelphia in what would be the Wildcats first win ever over the Owls by a final of 9-7. Jackie Froccaro led Villanova’s offense with four goals and two assists while Meghan Breen added three goal of her own. Elizabeth Armstrong had a strong defensive game finishing with five groundballs and three caused turnovers. Jaclyn Fraum was in goal; she played all 60 minutes and finished with nine saves and one groundball.
Wildcats Drop Game to No. 2 Florida 14-4
Jackie Froccaro go the Wildcats on the board first just under four minutes into the game but the Gators tied things up just over a minute later on a goal by Sammi Burgess.
Women's Lacrosse Host No. 2 Florida for Senior Day Saturday
This game will mark the 3rd in program history against Florida. The Gators first season in the BIG EAST was in 2015 and the Wildcats faced them twice. First was a regular season game the second was in the first round of the BIG EAST Tournament, both were won by the Gators who later made a run in the NCAA Tournament.
Wildcats Drops Road Game at Georgetown 18-7
Georgetown started off strong scoring the first two goals of the game, until Meghan Breen got the Wildcats on the board at the 16 minute mark of the first half on a pass from Jackie Froccaro to bring Villanova within one.
Wildcats Travel to Georgetown for Wednesday Night Matchup
Series History: Wednesdayâ?TMs game will mark the 17th time in program history these two BIG EAST schools will faceoff.
