Villanova field hockey head coach Joanie Milhous has announced the addition of six new members to their program. The Class of 2021 has signed their National Letters of Intent to play field hockey for Villanova.
"We are really excited about this recruiting class," stated Milhous. "They each have many talents to offer our program and will help us be a competitive threat in the Big East Conference. Most importantly they are Villanova quality student-athletes and we are thrilled to have them join our Villanova Field Hockey Family."
Emily Clarke (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City High School), Lexi DiGennaro (Medford, N.J./Bishop Eustace Prep.), Nikki Pearce (Orefield, Pa./Moravian Academy), Kate Romanowski (West Pittston, Pa./Wyoming Seminary), Ana Sherwood (Sag Harbor, N.Y./Pierson High School), and Ashley Thomas (Berlin, N.J./Eastern Regional High School).
Forward/Midfield | Garden City, N.Y.
Earned four varsity letters in field hockey at Garden City High School. She was also a three year varsity letter winner in track. Emily was a two time All-State selection in 2015 and in 2016. She was a four time All-County Selection, being an All-County Honorable mention in 2013, and being name to the All County Team 2014-2016. She helped lead her team to four Nassau Country Championships and Helped lead her team to four Long Island Championships. Emily was a three time New York State Finalist team and was selected for Newsday's 2016 All-Long Island Team, as well as, the 2015 All-Tournament team for Nassau County and Long Island Championships. She also was named to the 2016 All-Tournament team for Lon Island Championships. Emily tallied 41 goals and 15 assists as a three year starting forward. As a senior, she notched 12 goals and had 8 assists. She finished her high school career with 53 goals and 23 assists. Emily made the honor roll all four years and was a member of the National Honor Society.

Forward | Medford, N.J.
A four year varsity letter winner in field hockey, Lexi was also a four year starter. She led her team to the 2016 State Championship, notching 67 career goals and 54 assists. In both 2015 and 2016, she made the First Team All-Conference. She made the Second Team All Non Public in 2016 and made the Second Team All-Conference in 2015. Lexi was a three year member of the National Honors Society, as well as, the Spanish National Honors Society. She achieved the Headmasters List in 2014 and 2015 and made the First Honor Roll in 2016. Lexi was also a four year varsity letter winner in lacrosse.

Midfield/Defense | Orefield, Pa.
At Moravian Academy, Nikki was selected to the Colonial League All Star First Team in 2016 and the Colonial League All Star Second Team in 2015. She made the All-State Team back to back years in 2015 and 2016. She achieved the High Honor Roll in 2015 and 2016 and the Honor Roll in 2014.

Midfield/Defense | West Pittston, Pa.
Kate joins the team from Wyoming Seminary, where she was a four year varsity letter winner in field hockey and lacrosse. She also played basketball her freshman year. During the 2016 season, Kate was named a Co-Captain. As a three year varsity starter, she helped her team to the 2013 State Championship, as well as the WCV Conference Championship in 2015. She was a Citizens Voice All-Star Honorable mention in 2015.
Kate was a 2014-2015 Times Leader All-Star in lacrosse, as well a 2014-2016 Citizens Voice All-Star. She was named the 2016 Times Leader MVP. She helped her team to the Conference Championship and District Championship during 2014-2016. She made the high honor roll all four years and received Cum Laude through her high school career as well.
Her sister Ann, is a former Villanova field hockey player and is currently the volunteer assistant coach.

Midfield | Sag Harbor, N.Y.
A five year varsity letter winner in field hockey, Ana joins the Wildcats from Pierson High School, where she helped her team to the 2014 State Championship. She was a member of the All-Division team when she was in 8th grade and an All-County Honorable Mention when she was a freshman. She made the All-State team as a sophomore, junior, and as a senior. Ana finished with a career high of 38 points, while tallying 14 goals and 8 assists. She was also a two year varsity letter winner in basketball and a one year varsity letter winner in lacrosse.

Midfield | Berlin, N.J.
At Eastern Regional High School, Ashley was a four year varsity letter winner in field hockey. She was named to the Second All Conference Team in 2014 and 2015. She helped her team to four Conference Titles, four New Jersey Group IV State Championships, and three Tournament of Champion titles. Ashley achieved the Academic Art Award in 2013, the Academic Personal Finance Award in 2014 and the Academic Algebra II Award in 2015. Also in 2014 and 2015, she had the highest GPA on her time, while receiving the Athletic Scholar Award in field hockey. Ashley was also a three year varsity letter winner in lacrosse.
