Nov. 4, 2013

NEW YORK - Junior back Maddy Harding was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, as announced by the conference Monday afternoon.

Harding scored two goals this past weekend, the Wildcats' lone goals of the past two games. In a 1-0 win over Georgetown on Saturday, Harding scored the game-winner off a penalty corner just 10 minutes into the contest. Harding's goal against No. 19 Delaware broke a shutout bid for the Blue Hens and brought the Wildcats within one. Delaware scored four straight goals afterwards and won, 6-1.

After missing the 2012 season to injury, Harding was a huge leader for Villanova on the field this season. The Warrington, Pa., native paced the Wildcats with eight goals and three assists for 19 points. She also recorded two defensive saves.

Harding is the third Wildcat to be named to the Honor Roll this season. Senior goalkeeper Alex Diekmann and junior forward Jessica Swoboda each made appearances on the list.

No. 8 Connecticut's Marie Elena Bolles and Roisin Upton swept the Player of the Week awards. Jennifer Pels (Louisville), Alyssa Voelmle (Louisville), Danielle Cutter (Old Dominion) and Shevaun Hayes (Rutgers) joined Harding on the Honor Roll.
