NEW YORK, N.Y.— The BIG EAST announced All-BIG EAST honors today per a press release. Senior forward, Francesca Bello and junior goalkeeper, Erika Miller found themselves on the All-BIG EAST Second Team.
"Fresca has had an outstanding career here at Villanova. I am so happy that she received Big East Second Team honors. She led our team as a captain as well as leading scorer and total points. I will miss Fresca on the field as well as off," Villanova field hockey head coach Joanie Milhous said.
This is the second season that Bello has received this honor. She was named a co-captain of this season's squad as she led the team in goals this season with eight goals. Bello ends her career with the Wildcats appearing in 64 game and notching 31 goals, 20 assists, and 21 points.
"Erika is such a competitor and really came up very big for us in many games this season. She definitely kept us in some games and was a great leader in our backfield. I am excited the Erika was awarded Big East Second Team." Milhous said.
All-BIG EAST Second Team is the first All- BIG EAST honor for the junior goalkeeper of her Villanova field hockey career. Miller ended the season in goal capturing 124 saves while she earned a .756 save percentage. In her three years with the Wildcats, she has saved 347 goals.
