Oct. 29, 2012

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Sophomore forward Leah High (Green Lane, Pa.) has been named the BIG EAST's Offensive Player of the Week as announced by the conference Monday morning. High is the first Wildcat to receive a Player of the Week accolade this season. Senior Moriah Allen (Langhorne, Pa.) also inked an appearance on the conference's Honor Roll list.

The Offensive Player of the Week recognition is well deserved as High recorded twelve points last week, including a single-game league-high nine points in the 5-3 win over Georgetown. She scored four goals and added an assist to lead Villanova in the conference victory. High also notched one goal and one assist in a 3-2 loss to Penn.

The sophomore ended her season with a team-high 28 points and 12 goals.

Moriah Allen's defensive efforts were also recognized by the conference. Allen led a Villanova defensive end that limited Georgetown to eight shots and six penalty corners in the win for the Wildcats.

The BIG EAST named Louisville's Erin Conrad the Defensive Player of the Week.

Syracuse's Liz McInerney and Gillian Pinder, Louisville's Erin Scheidtmiller and Providence's Henni Tietze earned appearances on the Honor Roll list.

Villanova's season concluded Friday against Georgetown. They finished the season 7-12 overall and 2-4 in conference play.
