VILLANOVA, Pa. - As part of Senior Week leading up to the Wildcats' final home game against No. 17 Louisville on Sunday, each of the seniors sat down to answer some questions and let Nova Nation know more about them.
Senior forward Jenna Allen has been an integral member of the Wildcats all four years, playing at every position. After starting her Villanova career at midfield and switching to forward, Allen stepped up when her team needed her and played goalkeeper earlier this season.
Q: Why did you choose Villanova?
Jenna: It has great academics and a great field hockey team. The athletics side of Villanova is more like a family, and I really liked that.
Q: What's your most memorable game at Villanova?
Jenna: Louisville, sophomore year. It wasn't the deciding game that we were going to the BIG EAST, but it was pretty much the deciding game. It was a huge game. And I got on the back of The Villanovan.
Q: What's your favorite restaurant in Villanova?
Jenna: I think I went to Kelly's for dinner almost every day over the summer. I like Kelly's.
Q: What are you planning on doing after Villanova?
Jenna: Living life. My first priority is finding a job, preferably in the communications or public relations field. But just going wherever the job takes me.
Q: Why did you choose your number?
Jenna: I was number 7 throughout high school, and I was obsessed with the number 7. I was really mad I couldn't be that here, so I picked the next closest thing, which was 8.
Q: What is your favorite food?
Q: What is your favorite animal?
Jenna: My golden retriever, Boomer.
Q: What's the last movie you watched?
Jenna: Paranormal Activity, and it was awful.
Q: What do you like to do outside of field hockey?
Jenna: I read. I lead a service trip on Wednesday nights to a soup kitchen.
Q: If you could play another sport at Villanova, what would it be?
Jenna: Volleyball. I've actually thought about this a lot.
Q: If you could be a contestant on any game/reality show, which would you pick?
Jenna: The Amazing Race.
Q: If you could switch places with any of your teammates, who would it be?
Jenna: I would say Celise [Feller]. I think she's pretty interesting.
Q: What is your pregame routine?
Jenna: When we jog around the field, me and the two freshmen slap hands. When we're in the team huddle, I hold Alex Diekmann's hand before we grunt.
Q: What's the best thing about being a field hockey player?
Jenna: The people you meet and the people you get to network with.
Q: What is your greatest strength on the field?
Jenna: Communicating. I am a communications major.
