PROVIDENCE, R.I. - For the third consecutive week, sophomore goalie Megan Goelz (Yardley, Pa.) has earned recognition to the BIG EAST Honor Roll for her performance against BIG EAST rival No. 19 Providence College (4-6, 1-2 BIG EAST).

The Wildcats (6-3, 1-1 BIG EAST) suffered their first BIG EAST loss of the 2009 season as they fell to the Friars 4-2 on October 3rd in an away match held at Friar Field Hockey and Lacrosse Complex. In the loss, Goelz recorded 17 saves while facing 32 shots, 21 of which were on goal.

For the season, Goelz has recorded over 442 minutes in cage for the Wildcats and boasts a .800 save percentage, placing her tied for 8th place amongst NCAA Division I goalies. She has faced a total of 94 shots while making 40 saves for the year.

The Wildcats return to action in a mid-week matchup against Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa. on Wednesday, Oct. 7th. Game time is slated for 7 p.m.
