The Wildcats came away with a 2-1 win over Bryant on Sept. 30th, but also earned a different kind of victory Sunday afternoon off the field. The game coincided with the team's annual "Stick it to Cancer" field hockey game, which collects money for the National Foundation for Cancer Research (NFCR). Through donations from fans and parents, the team was able to raise $835.

Those who donated received a pink balloon that they released prior to the game's start in honor of a loved one who had battled or is fighting against cancer. Both the Wildcats and the Bulldogs donned pink shoelaces to celebrate the cause and show support.

The proceeds from Sunday's successful fundraiser will go toward finding a cure for cancer, as well as the prevention, education and treatment of the disease.

And VUFH is not done yet! Donations can still be made on the field hockey team's FirstGiving website.

Thank you to all those who participated and made this day a victory for Villanova and the NFCR!
