NEW YORK, N.Y.— Junior goalkeeper, Erika Miller, was named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll this week per a release by the BIG EAST Conference. This is the first award of the season for Miller.
"Erika stepped up and had a great game with some key saves. She wanted that win Friday," Villanova Field Hockey head coach Joanie Milhous said.
Against Quinnipiac, Miller came out strong from the start for the Wildcats, as she didn’t allow a goal until the 27th minute of play. The Bobcats had 10 penalty corners on the day, but couldn’t get them past Miller who had nine saves on the day. The Wildcats edged Quinnipiac, 2-1 on Friday. This season, Miller has tallied 66 saves in 666:13 minutes of play.
Next, Miller will face No. 1 UConn under the lights. The game is set to begin at 7 p.m. at the Villanova Field Hockey Field in Conshohocken, Pa.
