NEW YORK - Junior forward Jessica Swoboda earned her second appearance of the season on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, as announced by the conference Monday afternoon.
Swoboda tallied an assist in a 7-3 loss to No. 3 Connecticut on Saturday. The assist to junior back Maddy Harding led to the first goal of the game, giving the Wildcats a 1-0 lead. It was the first time the Huskies have trailed this season.
In a win over UMass-Lowell on Sunday, Swoboda tallied a goal and two assists for four points. The Hanover Township, Pa., native scored the first goal of the game at 18:33, tipping in a Kristen Mericle shot. Penalty corners taken by Swoboda led to two consecutive Harding goals to seal the 3-0 win. Swoboda also recorded a defensive save.
Swoboda leads the team in points (11) and is tied for the lead in goals (4) and assists (3). The junior forward was also named to the honor roll on Sept. 16.
No. 17 Temple's Katie Foran was named the Offensive Player of the Week, while No. 16 Louisville's Alyssa Voelmle earned Defensive Player of the Week honors. Marie Elena Bolles (Connecticut), Sarah Butterfield (Georgetown), Sarah Breen (Old Dominion) and Rosario Villagra (Old Dominion) joined Swoboda on the honor roll.
The Wildcats take a short trip to Saint Joseph's on Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m.
