Villanova, Pa. -- The Villanova field hockey team takes a four-game losing streak into Saturday's matchup with Big East foe Rutgers. The Wildcats' record stands at 3-5 on the year, with an 0-1 mark in conference play. The Scarlet Knights enter the game with a 2-6 mark and an 0-1 record in the Big East.

RED VS. BLUE- Entering Saturday's game, Rutgers leads the all-time series 12-8-1. The last Villanova victory came last year when Villanova headed to Piscataway and eeked out a 1-0 win. Krissy Malchisky converted a penalty corner from Christina Lugones and Vanessa Pizzulli, while the Villanova defense allowed Rutgers only two shots on goal.

SCOUTING THE SCARLET KNIGHTS- The Scarlet Knights are led by junior midfielder Leann Grondski who has two goals to her credit. Grondski is a preseaon All-Big East selection and was named Big East Offensive Player of the week September 16. Megan Cech leads Rutgers in assists with two. Goalkeeper Stacey Gaenzel currently has a 2.79 GAA average. Rutgers is coached by Ann Petracco, who is in her 26th season at the helm.

STARTING SLOW- Rory Rogers' first-minute goal against the University of Connecticut was only the second first-half goal for the 'Cats on the season. On the season, Villanova has been outscored 9-2 in the first half. Conversely, Villanova has held their opponents scoreless in overtime, while tallying three goals.
