Diekmann Named to BIG EAST Honor Roll

VILLANOVA, Pa. - Senior goalkeeper Alex Diekmann earned her first appearance of the season on the BIG EAST's Weekly Honor Roll, as announced by the conference Monday afternoon. In a 1-1 week, Diekmann made six combined saves in a loss to Rider (Sept. 4) and a win over Siena (Sept. 7).

In a tough defensive game against Rider, the Holmdel, N.J., native faced 11 shots with four on goal from the Broncs. The defending NEC champions managed to sneak a goal in at 64:50 off a penalty corner to snag the win.

Against Siena, Diekmann allowed just one goal on 11 shots from the Saints and the senior recorded her first win of the season.

Diekmann earned conference honor roll mentions four times last season and was named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team at the end of the year.

The Wildcats travel to Kent, Ohio, to take on Saint Louis and Kent State on Sept. 14 and 15.
