PROVIDENCE, R.I - Junior goalkeeper Alex Diekmann's defensive efforts in the cage are being recognized again by the BIG EAST who listed her on the conference Honor Roll released Monday. This is the second week in a row Diekmann has received the BIG EAST acknowledgment.

Diekmann registered a season and career-high 10 saves in the Wildcats' 2-0 loss to Rider on Friday afternoon. With three games under her belt as Villanova's starting goalie, Deikmann has 26 saves on the season and notched one shut-out.

Also named on the Honor Roll were Connecticut's Sarah Mansfield, Rutgers' Carlie Rouh, Louisville's Mallory Mason and Syracuse's Emily Russell

The BIG EAST recognized Connecticut's Marie Elena Bolles as the Offensive Player of the Week and Syracuse's Iona Holloway as the Defensive Player of the Week

Diekmann and the Wildcat Field Hockey team are back on the turf Wednesday, September 5th against local-rival La Salle. This will mark Villanova's home-opener at Villanova Stadium.
