NEW YORK -
The Villanova field hockey team was picked to finish seventh in the BIG EAST Conference preseason poll, chosen by a vote of the league's head coaches.

Georgetown finished eighth in the conference.
UConn forward Marie Elena Bolles was named Preseason BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year. The Preseason BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year was shared by UConn goalkeeper Sarah Mansfield and Old Dominion senior back Christy Longacre. Coaches were not permitted to vote for their own players.
