Villanova Releases 2007 Field Hockey Schedule
June 15, 2007 VILLANOVA, Pa. - After recently announcing next year's incoming freshmen class, the Villanova field hockey program has just released the 2007 schedule for the fall. The Wildcats' highly competitive schedule is comprised of 16 regular season games, followed by the BIG EAST Tournament hosted this upcoming season by Syracuse University the first weekend in November. With eight home games, seven on the road, and a single contest at a neutral site, the Wildcats will set the pace early in the season as they jump right into aggressive play taking Ball State in August. Not long after that, Villanova will face an elite North Carolina University squad at the Vonnie Gros Tournament held at West Chester University. As the season moves forward, the Wildcats will look to get back to postseason conference play battling six BIG EAST opponents along the way, two in September and four in October. Upon the conclusion of conference action, Villanova will take on long-time foe Saint Joseph's, a talented Maryland team, and first-time opponent Robert Morris.
