2014-15 Villanova Field Hockey Student-Athletes on NFHCA National Academic Squad

CHANDLER, Ariz. - Eleven Villanova field hockey student-athletes were named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division I National Academic Squad when the awards were announced on Monday, March 23. Seniors Jessica Swoboda and Lauren Wilson led the Wildcats as four-year recipients of the National Academic Squad award.

Fellow seniors Allison Flitter and Leah High were also named to the Academic team.

Carolynn Clark, Kristina Roberts and Heather Smillie were the Wildcat juniors tabbed to the list.

Sophomore Kristen Mericle earned a spot on the squad.

Freshmen Francesca Bello, Jordyn Clipstone and Mackenzie Harding represented the Villanova first-year class on the list.

The National Academic Squad recognizes those student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2014-15 academic year.



Two weeks ago, Villanova was named a 2014 Gladiator by SGI / NFHCA Division I National Academic Team for maintaining a 3.0 GPA during the fall playing season.
