VILLANOVA, Pa. - The Villanova women's field hockey team was recognized in the 2013 Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Division I National Academic Team Award for having a team GPA above 3.0. Additionally, 12 Wildcats earned spots on the Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA National Academic Squad.

Carolynn Clark, Andrea Conte, Celise Feller, Allison Flitter, Leah High, Christine Lafferty, Kristen Mericle, Heather Smillie, Jessica Swoboda, Ashton Whalen, Lauren Wilson and Keira Zambon all earned academic squad accolades.

Seniors Feller and Lafferty have earned honors for all four years of their Villanova careers. Swoboda, Wilson, Zambon, Clark, Conte and Whalen have also been honored multiple times by SGI and the National Field Hockey Coaches Association.

The National Academic Squad recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2013-14 academic year.

The Wildcats finished the 2013 season with a 4-13 overall record and a 1-6 result in BIG EAST Conference play.
