The National Field Hockey Coaches' Association released their National Academic Squad today and six Wildcats earned their way onto that list. These six players each achieved a GPA of 3.30 or greater in the fall semester.
The six players recognized were: Celise Feller, Amy Jackson, Olivia Maggitti, Christine Lafferty, Lauren Wilson, and Jessica Swoboda.
The Villanova field hockey team (4-10, 1-2 BIG EAST), fresh off two weekly awards and a win over Georgetown, takes on the No. 5 Connecticut Huskies (11-2, 3-0 BIG EAST), the defending national champions, in a conference tilt on Fri., Oct. 24 at Villanova Stadium. Play is set to begin at 7 p.m.
Villanova freshman goalkeeper Jordyn Clipstone (Harare, Zimbabwe/Hellenic Academy) was named to the BIG EAST Field Hockey Weekly Honor Roll for the second time this season on Monday. The news was announced via a BIG EAST press release.

Villanova sophomore midfielder Kristen Mericle notched the lone goal for the Wildcats in the second half to tie the game at 1-1. It came as the first career goal for Mericle.
The Villanova field hockey team (3-10, 0-2 BIG EAST) plays the Georgetown Hoyas (4-8, 0-2 BIG EAST) on Fri., Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. from Villanova Stadium in a BIG EAST matchup. The game will be steamed live on Nova Nation All-Access.
Villanova field hockey senior Lauren Wilson (Hummelstown, Pa./Hershey) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Mon., Oct. 13 for her play against Temple and Saint Francis over the weekend. The news came via a BIG EAST press release.
The Villanova Field Hockey team (3-10) fell in a dramatic overtime finish in Loretto, Pa. to the Saint Francis Red Flash (10-1) by the final of 3-2 in a nonconference game on Sunday afternoon. It was the Wildcats' second overtime game of the season.
