Box Score

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Villanova (6-11) fell to BIG 10 opponents Indiana (9-7) 4-0 Sunday afternoon in Bloomington. The game marked the Wildcats' final road contest of the season.

The Hoosiers four goals came in the first period of play. Morgan Fleetwood secured the first score of the game and assisted Amanda Bennison's goal. Fleetwood netted two more scores for Indiana, extending their lead on the scoreboard to 4-0 at the end of the period.

Villanova found their offensive intensity in the second half and shot 13 of their 16 shots during the second period of play. Unfortunately, their efforts came up short as the Wildcats would remain scoreless until the final horn blew. Villanova's defense held back the Hoosiers from utilizing their four corner play chances in the second half.

Junior goalkeeper Alex Diekmann (Holmdel, N.J.) notched four saves on the game, while rookie goaltender Erin Gorse (Glenshaw, Pa.) would register a career-high five saves in the cage for Villanova.

The Wildcats will finish up their regular season schedule of play with a series of home matches this week against Penn on Wednesday and versus BIG EAST rivals Georgetown Friday night.
