Louisville, Ky. - Villanova (10-4, 1-3, Big East) was defeated by No. 7 James Madison (11-1) Saturday in a defensive battle. The Wildcats were unable to generate offense as they took only one shot in the game and lost to the Dukes 1-0.

James Madison scored the only goal of the game at the 14:35. Ashley Walls was able to get the ball past McCormick and into the cage on a deflected penalty corner to put the Dukes ahead at the half.

Sophomore Goalkeeper Maura McCormick (Forty Fort, Pa.) had six saves for the Wildcats to bring her season total to 62. She has only allowed 15 goals in the Wildcats 14 games to bring her goals against average to 1.10.

The Wildcats will be back at home on September 17th. They will take on Big East rival Georgetown at 7 p.m. at Villanova Stadium.
