DiMaggio Takes Big East Honors Again
Honored as Rookie-of-the-Week
VILLANOVA, Pa.-- Villanova freshman Nicole DiMaggio, from West Chester, Penn./Unionvill H.S., was honored from on Monday, Oct. 27, by the Big East conference as rookie-of-the-week for her efforts last week.
On Wednesday, Oct. 22, Villanova (7-12) snapped their two game losing streak with a 3-2 victory over Main Line rival St. Joseph's.
DiMaggio led the Wildcats with a two goal effort including the game-winning goal.
She opened the scoring in the first half just 4:51 into the match-up giving the Wildcats a 1-0 lead. DiMaggio struck again in the second half netting the game-winner with 12:10 remaining in the contest to secure the Wildcats victory.
A West Chester, Penn. native and a graduate of Unionville High School, DiMaggio has started all 19 games for Villanova. She currently leads the team with 12 goals for a team-leading 24 points.
DiMaggio has also recorded two hat-tricks (vs. Holy Cross 10/5/97, vs. Cornell 10/19/97 and has scored eight goals in the past seven games.
