Women's Crew to Compete at LaSalle Invitational

Villanova, Pa.--- Heading to Cooper River in Camden, N.J. to compete in the LaSalle Invitational on Saturday, April 18, the Villanova women's crew team returned to the Main Line with two first place finishes.

The Wildcat varsity eight teams had an outstanding weekend, with both the varsity eight and the second varsity eight squads taking home victories. The Villanova varsity eight's defeated second place Marist College finishing in 6:59.3, over five seconds ahead of the second place Red Foxes. The women's second varsity achieved victory in 7:10.9 to beat Marist and Mercyhurst.

In the novice events, the Wildcats took home a third and a fifth place finish on the weekend. The novice eight team finished in third place (7:27.8), behind first place Marist (7:13.9) and runner-up Rhode Island (7:24.6). In the women's novice four, Villanova ended in the fifth position, less than 20 seconds behind first place Johnm Carroll.

The Wildcats will resume their schedule on Sunday, April 26, traveling to Washington D.C. to participate in the Big East Invitational.
