Villanova Competed in the Dad Vail Regatta on May 9-10.

Villanova, Pa. - The Villanova rowing team competed in the Dad Vail Regatta on May 9 and 10. The Dad Vail is the largest collegiate regatta in the U.S. and traditionally the Wildcats perform well in the local race. This season however Villanova managed to advance to only one semi-final in the Women's Freshman/Novice Heavyweight Eight posting a time of 7:10.7. The 'Cats also competed in the Women's Pair Without, the Women's Varsity Heavyweight Eight, the Women's Varsity Lightweight Eight and the Women's Lightweight Four during the two day event in Philadelphia. This year's winner of the Jack and Nancy Sietz Trophy for women's overall points went to Purdue who also won the Dr. Thomas Kerr Trophy for overall men's points. The Wildcats next race in the IRA National Championships on May 30-June 1 in Cherry Hill, N.J. |
