Assistant coach Brian Burke enters his sixth year with the Wildcats looking to improve upon the impressive results of the previous squads. In his first four years at Villanova, Burke helped guide crews to medals at the Murphy Cup, Kerr Cup, Big East Championships and Dad Vail Regatta.
Prior to his arrival on the Main Line, Burke spent one year coaching the novice men at Bucknell University, winning titles at the Murphy Cup, Patriot League Championships and Mid-Atlantic Championships.
Burke began rowing in 1989 at Simsbury High School in Simsbury, CT, and continued his rowing career through four years at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA, and Penn A.C. in Philadelphia. During that time, Burke competed at the IRA National Championships and Henley Royal Regatta, and medaled at numerous regattas including the Champion International Collegiate Regatta, American Rowing Championships, Canadian Henley and U.S. Nationals.
