Villanova Women's Basketball Ranked 24th in Latest AP Poll
Dec. 31, 2002 VILLANOVA, PA. - On Monday, Dec. 30, the latest Associated Press women's basketball top 25 poll was released with the Villanova women's basketball team making an appearance for the first time in the AP poll since the 2000-01 season. The 9-1 Wildcats are ranked 24th in the country with 92 points. Villanova is fresh off a Monday night 88-42 drubbing of Fairfield - the team's third consecutive victory. The Wildcats will next play on Saturday, Jan. 4, when they host the St. John's Red Storm at 2:00 p.m., at The Pavilion.
Villanova is led this season by seniors Katie Davis and Trish Juhline. Davis is averaging a team-best 17.9 points per game thus far in 2002-03, while Juhline is averaging 16.7 points and 5.7 assists per contest.
