VILLANOVA, Pa. - Villanova will open the home portion of its 2012-13 schedule on Thursday night when the Wildcats play host to the Lehigh Mountain Hawks. The Wildcats enter play at 4-1, while Lehigh is 2-3 on the season.

The Wildcats lead the all-time series against Lehigh by a 4-1 margin. The last two meetings between the schools have both gone to overtime. Last year in Bethlehem, Villanova tallied a 62-54 overtime win after Lehigh hit a three-point field goal at the regulation buzzer to tie the game. Two years ago at The Pavilion, the Wildcats earned a 69-68 overtime victory.

Wildcats Win Overtime Thriller
The Villanova Wildcats improved to 5-2 on the season with a 62-54 overtime win over the Lehigh Mountain Hawks in a game played in Stabler Arena in Bethlehem, Pa.

Lehigh is the second Patriot League opponent for Villanova this season. The Wildcats won at Lafayette on Nov. 14 by a score of 73-34. In the history of the program, Villanova owns a 16-4 record versus teams that currently make-up the Patriot League. The 16-4 includes 4-1 vs. Lehigh; 4-1 vs. Lafayette; 2-2 vs. Holy Cross and 2-0 versus American, Bucknell and Navy.

Villanova is led by senior forward Laura Sweeney who leads the team in scoring (15.6), rebounding (6.2), field goal percentage (.667) and steals (13). Senior guard Rachel Roberts is second in scoring at 10.8 points per contest, while sophomore Lauren Burford has made a team-best 11 three-point field goals.
