Nov. 26, 2013
VILLANOVA, Pa. - Villanova University head women's basketball coach Harry Perretta today announced the signing of Alex Louin to a national letter of intent. Louin is a 6-0 guard from Doylestown, Pa., who attends Mount Saint Joseph Academy.
"We are excited to add Alex to the Villanova women's basketball program," said Perretta. "She is a multi-dimensional player who can shoot, pass and dribble. Her skill set will fit in well with our style of play."
During her junior season in 2012-13, Louin averaged 16.1 points per game, 7.3 rebounds per contest, 5.2 assists per game and 2.0 steals per contest, while leading her team to the league championship and a spot in the district finals. For her efforts last season, she was named to the AAAA All-State Team, in addition to earning league MVP honors. She also became the 11th player in Mount Saint Joseph history to score 1,000 career points and she was a McDonald's All-American nominee.
Louin, who is a member of both the National Honor Society and Latin National Honor Society, has garnered the school's 4.0+ GPA award every year during her high school career.
