The Villanova Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams will take part in an exhibition doubleheader on Wednesday, Nov. 1, at the Jake Nevin Field House to help raise funds for hurricane relief efforts in Puerto Rico. The Wildcats’ women will host East Stroudsburg at 6 p.m. The men will meet Drexel at 8:30 p.m.
Doubleheader tickets – priced at $30 with the opportunity to donate above that level if the buyer chooses - will be offered to Villanova men’s and women’s basketball season ticket holders via email beginning Monday, Oct. 23, at 10 a.m. If there are tickets remaining 24 hours later, at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 24, those will be made available to the general public through the Villanova Ticket Office and villanova.com.
All proceeds are to benefit the hurricane relief efforts in Puerto Rico through the organization “Unidos Por Puerto Rico”. Additional relief donations can be made at http://www.unidosporpuertorico.com/en/
“The impact of Hurricane Irma on our fellow citizens of Puerto Rico has been tragic,” stated Villanova Director of Athletics Mark Jackson. “We are grateful that the NCAA is permitting its members to participate in making donations in this unique way as we get ready for the college basketball season. I hope the Nova Nation will join us in supporting this relief effort.”
Seating capacity for this game is 1,500.
The Villanova men’s and women’s teams both open the regular season on Friday, Nov. 10. The women’s team visits Hartford at 5:30 p.m. while the men kick off their 2017-18 campaign presented by KeyBank at the Wells Fargo Center where they host Columbia at 8:30 p.m.
