MACHERI, ITALY - In the second game of the Villanova women's basketball team's summer Italy tour, on Sunday, May 30th in Macheri, Italy, the Wildcats used a key second half run to defeat BF Pilot Italia Biassono by the score of 73-54. Jackie Adamshick led the way for the `Cats with a team-high 14 points and seven boards. The win was Villanova's second in two games thus far in Italy.

The Wildcats jumped out to a hot start on Sunday leading 38-29 at the half, but BF Pilot began the second half on a 9-0 run to tie the score at 38-38.

Villanova responded with a run of their own, outscoring BF Pilot 12-2 during a key third quarter stretch to claim a 50-40 lead with 3:45 left in the third. Adamshick hit a three-pointer to end Pilot's 9-0 run and begin the `Cats' surge. Kate Dessart Mager and Adamshick then hit back-to-back field goals to send Villanova on its way. The Wildcats led 52-44 after three quarters of play, and would cruise to the 73-54 victory.

Adamshick shot six-of-eight from the field and two-of-two from three-point range to finish the game with 14 points to go along with seven boards. Courtney Roantree and Dessart Mager also scored in double-figures for the `Cats. Roantree netted 12 points on four-of-seven shooting, and Dessart Mager had 10 points and five rebounds.

Winding down Villanova's scoring were Liad Suez with nine points, Jenna Viani with eight points, Staci Whitman with seven points, Jennifer Hilgenberg with five points (and four steals), Jana Rediger with four points (and five rebounds) and Sarita Hatcher and Fran Lamb with two points apiece.

The Wildcats finished the game shooting 28-of-62 from the field, seven-of-19 from three-point range and 10-of-15 from the foul line. The `Cats grabbed 30 rebounds in the contest, dished out 13 assists (to 11 turnovers) and tallied nine steals.

Villanova will leave Como, Italy on Monday and travel to Venice. The Wildcats will play next on Tuesday, June 1st against Reyern Venezia.
