Villanova, Pa. - Villanova University head women's basketball coach Harry Perretta today announced the signing of Sarah Jones to a national letter of intent. Jones will enroll at Villanova in the fall of 2007 and be a freshman on the 2007-08 Wildcat squad.

"Sarah is a great kid who will fit in well with our program," said Perretta. "She is a versatile player who can play both guard spots. We are very excited to have her. She will bring a different dimension to our guard play."

Jones, a 5-9 guard, attends Central High School in Philadelphia. During her four-year career, she led her team to four consecutive Public League championships. In addition, Jones never lost a Public League girls' basketball game during her high school career.

As a senior in 2006-07, Jones averaged 14.2 points per game and led Central to its sixth consecutive league title and a 19-7 overall record. Throughout the District 12 and PIAA playoffs, she averaged 20.3 points per contest. For her efforts this past season, Jones was named a Philadelphia Inquirer second team selection.
