PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Three Villanova University women's basketball players were honored by the Philadelphia Big Five for their efforts in 2006-07 at the annual Big Five banquet on Tuesday, April 24. The banquet was held at the Hyatt Regency Penns Landing.

Highlighting the awards for the Wildcats was senior Jackie Adamshick who was named first team All-Philadelphia Big Five. This marks the third consecutive year that Adamshick has been a first team selection. As a captain in 2006-07, Adamshick led Villanova in scoring (13.1 ppg.), rebounding (8.0 rpg.), assists (75) and minutes played (34.0 mpg.). She finished her Main Line career ranked seventh all-time in school history in both scoring (1,372) and rebounding (703).

Sophomore forward Lisa Karcic was named a second team All-Philadelphia Big Five performer. Karcic started 27 of 29 games and averaged 11.3 points per game and 6.1 rebounds per contest. She also led her team in three-point field goals made with 61 and steals with 32. Karcic's best performance of the season came in a 66-47 win over Providence in the final game of the season when she scored a career-high 29 points on 9-of-14 shooting, including a 6-of-9 effort from three-point range and a 5-of-5 effort from the foul line. She tallied 24 of her 29 points in the first half.

For the second straight year, Villanova is represented on the Philadelphia Big Five All-Academic Team by sophomore guard Siobhan O'Connor. On the court, O'Connor played in all 29 games this past season and averaged 3.9 points per game, 2.9 rebounds per contest and she registered 58 assists which ranked second on the team. In the classroom, O'Connor is an accounting major and boasts an impressive 3.8 grade point average.
