Villanova's Juhline Selected in WNBA Draft by Washington Mystics
April 25, 2003 Villanova University senior guard Trish Juhline became the first Wildcat in history to be drafted by the WNBA when she was selected by the Washington Mystics in the third round of the 2003 Draft with the 32nd overall pick. Juhline is coming off an outstanding senior season where she averaged 17.6 points per game, 4.3 assists per contest, 3.4 rebounds per game and 1.5 steals per contest. She also tallied 83 three-point field goals. Juhline helped Villanova to a 28-6 overall record, the Big East Tournament title and a spot in the NCAA Tournament's Elite Eight. In addition to earning first team All-Big East Conference honors for the second-straight year, Juhline also earned the Big East Tournament's Most Outstanding Player.
In her four-year Wildcat career, Juhline recorded 1,659 points, 385 assists, 372 rebounds and 146 assists. Her 1,659 points ranks her third all-time in school history in scoring. Juhline also owns the Villanova school record for career three-point goals woith 283.
