Women's Basketball Set for San Juan Tipoff in Daytona Beach
The Wildcats will play two games in this week’s tournament. Villanova will play Troy on Thursday, Nov. 25, at 5:45 p.m., and Virginia Commonwealth on Friday, Nov. 26, at 8 p.m. This will be the first-ever meeting against both of these teams for the Wildcats.
Wildcats Fall to George Washington in Home Opener
In the 2016-17 home opener, the Villanova Wildcats lost a hard fought 72-69 game to the George Washington Colonials. With the loss, Villanova falls to 1-2 on the season, while George Washington improves to 3-1.
Villanova Opens Up the Home Schedule versus George Washington on Sunday
Tip-off at the Pavilion is set for 1 p.m. This will be Villanova’s only home contest in the first five games of the season. After opening the 2016-17 campaign last weekend in the University of Maine Tip-off Tournament, the Wildcats will host George Washington on Sunday before heading to Daytona Beach next week for the two games in the San Juan Shootout.
Strong Second Half Propels Villanova To 58-44 Win Over Purdue
The Villanova Wildcats tallied their first win of the season with a 58-44 victory over Purdue in the consolation game of the University of Maine Tip-off Tournament. With the victory, Villanova improves to 1-1 on the young season.
Villanova Falls In Season Opener to No. 10 Mississippi State
The Villanova Wildcats opened the 2016-17 season in the University of Maine Tipoff Tournament where they lost to the No. 10 ranked Mississippi State Bulldogs by a score 108-62. Villanova will play Purdue in tomorrow’s consolation game at 5 p.m.
Villanova Cruises To 78-52 Exhibition Win At East Stroudsburg
Villanova will open the 2016-17 season on Nov. 11-12 in the University of Maine Tip-off Classic. The Wildcats are scheduled to play Mississippi State in the first round on Friday, Nov. 11 at 7 p.m.

Villanova to Name Pavilion for Alumnus William B. Finneran '63
Villanova University President the Rev. Peter M. Donohue, OSA, PhD, today announced at Villanova's annual "Hoops on the Hudson" basketball event that the Pavilion--the University's on-campus arena and home to its Men's and Women's Basketball programs--will be named for William B. Finneran '63 VSB. Last spring, Finneran's $22.6 million leadership gift was announced to support renovations to the Pavilion and programmatic initiatives for the Villanova Men's Basketball program. This historic gift will have a lasting impact on the University's Athletics program, and when the Pavilion renovation is completed, it will be renamed the William B. Finneran Pavilion.
